    Description

    Very interesting, well made, early "The Citadel" (military school in South Carolina) Regimental Band and Pipes Hat. The outside is embellished with a heavy, gold-tone, shiny brass chain, a large "The Citadel" brass badge and a shiny leather top, band and trim.
    The sides are a felt like fabric, probably wool. The inside has strung leather so one's head doesn't sink into the hat. It is marked size 7-1/4. I don't want to pull back the leather but I believe it was made by W. Bayly & Sons, Inc. in Hollywood, Florida. (Bayl-Stron).
    I believe it is missing the chin strap and side buttons, but otherwise in very good condition for its age which I place about 1960.
    Great gift for your up and coming cadet, as a Christmas decoration (think Toy Solider) or for Drum Major costume.
